(I know that this might sound like some cliche’ aphorism, but what the hell, maybe there’s a place for a little positivity after all.)
So, I just had this little epiphany – about painting.
(I often have conversations with myself, while painting & listening to music.) Well, one of us said:
That it really is a lifelong journey.
I find myself so impatient sometimes, wanting everything to come t
The trick is to just keep going, to just keep working. Everything will work itself out, regardless; even if it doesn’t end up anywhere, even slightly near, where we imagined.
So, to quote Yogi Berra, “It ain’t over ’til it’s over.”
You never know what you’ll discover in the very next painting. You never know what your final painting will be.
I don’t even know what the paintings (I’m working on currently) will end up looking like – if they’ll succeed or fail. That’s the beauty of it, & the slightly scary part too; the possibilities are endless. …& unstoppable.
Again, it’s applicable to all aspects of life.
Occasionally, I realise how lucky I am to be able to do this:
sit here & paint, & talk to myself.
I feel lucky to have this page also – my little connection to the big wide world. Thank you for being a part of it.
Have a great weekend.
Stay positive & embrace the uncertainty.
You Never Know ( just around the next bend)
